The cloth diapers today are far different from what our grandparents had back in the days. However, some people are turned off from using cloth diapers because of some nasty myths and rumors about it. If you are one of those who don’t like cloth diapers mainly because of what you’ve heard then this article will surely change your mind.

- Disposable diapers are much better for the environment than cloth diapers – If this is mainly the reason why you’re turned off with cloth diapers then you’re totally wrong. Disposable diapers require a lot of energy, oil, water, wood, etc. in its manufacturing and shipping phase. Also, it can take up to 500 years for it to decompose. This could easily mean that there are still landfills of disposable diapers from the 60s that are still in the decomposition stage. Also, disposable diapers contain some harmful chemicals in them so it means that it could leak into the ground once they’re thrown into the landfill.
- Cloth diapers are difficult to wash – This is definitely not true! If you want to know, washing cloth diapers is no different than washing your regular laundry. All you have to do is just remove the poop first and then throw it inside your washing machine and you’re done!
- Cloth diapers will leave an awful smell in your house – If you think that cloth diapers will leave a stench in your house then this is also not true. In fact, even a lot of parents agree that disposable diapers do a better job in making your house smell bad compared to cloth diapers.
- Cloth diapers leak – Cloth diapers have existed for a long time already and they are mostly made from the most absorbent materials ever existed including help, cotton, and even bamboo. The covers and diapers contain elasticized leg gussets that are capable of holding any type of leaks. They can even be customized in a way that can cater an even longer absorbing power which is ideal for very long trips. If ever you noticed that the cloth diapers are leaking then it could only mean that they weren’t pre-washed for a significant amount of time. Also, after every wash, cloth diapers are increasing their absorbent power every time.
- Cloth diapers are expensive – Cloth diapers will only be a bit expensive during the pre-buying and stacking phase. This is because you’ll be buying a lot of the best cloth diapers to use and after that, you won’t be spending more of your money on it. Unlike disposable diapers, you have to keep on buying new ones every time your baby needs some changing because of the wetness.
